Arcata Downtown & Other Community Events

  1. Friday Night Flicks

    August 17, 2018, 7:30 PM @ Arcata Ball Park

    Friday Night Flicks is a free and family-friendly outdoor movie night sponsored by The Minor Theatre, Arcata Chamber of Commerce, Arcata Main Street and the City of Arcata. On Friday, August 17, moviegoers will have the opportunity to view Steven Spielberg’s classic film, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial. Ball park gates gates will open at 7:30 pm, and the movie will begin at sunset. Concessions will be available for purchase benefitting the Arcata Ball Park Improvement Fund and donations will also be accepted. Moviegoers are welcome to bring blankets or lawn chairs to be used for seating on the ball park grass. Food and drinks may be brought into the park for these events, but no alcoholic beverages, glass containers, smoking or dogs will be permitted.     Join Friends of the Arcata Marsh (FOAM) volunteers for a tour of the wildlife sanctuary. This free tour takes place rain or shine! No reservations are necessary. Participants are instructed to meet at the Interpretive Center.

  2. Arcata Marsh Clean-Up Day

    August 18, 2018, 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM @ Arcata Marsh Interpretive Center

    Humboldt Pet Supply and Friends of the Arcata Marsh (FOAM) host a monthly event to help reduce our community's environmental paw print by cleaning up abandoned pet waste at the Arcata Marsh! This free event is open to volunteers of all ages. Volunteers are instructed to meet at 9:30 a.m. at the South G Street parking lot, located near the Interpretive Center for coffee and doughnuts! Participants are encouraged to wear a long-sleeved shirt, pants and boots and to bring water. Clean-up supplies and materials, coffee, doughnuts and snacks will be provided. Volunteers will also be entered in a raffle for prizes courtesy of Humboldt Pet Supply! For more information, please call Humboldt Pet Supply at 707-633-6216.
