    A wide array of local, farm fresh foods are available at the year-round Arcata Plaza Farmers’ Market! Visit the market each week to enjoy the freshest fruits and vegetables, humanely raised meats and eggs, honey, jams, flowers and plant starts. Depending on the time of year, local goat cheese and fresh caught fish can also be found. This market also features the very best bands of Humboldt County, with performances each week from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. The Arcata Plaza Farmers' Market is open every Saturday rain or shine! Please leave your 4-legged friends at home because multiple State, County and Municipal regulations prohibit pets at Certified Farmers' Markets and food facilities. Please also note that smoking of any kind or unauthorized vending is not permitted.

Volunteer Work Days

  1. Help Maintain the Arcata Marsh & Wildlife Sanctuary on Saturday, September 21

    September 21, 2019, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM @ Arcata Marsh Interpretive Center

    Our Environmental Services Department is seeking volunteers to assist with maintaining the Arcata Marsh & Wildlife Sanctuary on Saturday, September 21 from 9 AM to 1 PM. Work will include removing Spartina and other invasive plants. Volunteers of all ages are welcome, and work will take place rain or shine. Participants are asked to meet at 9 AM at parking lot on South G Street before walking to the work site. Please bring a reusable water bottle, gloves and wear protective footwear and clothing. Extra gloves and tools will be provided, and lunch will be served at the end of the work day. For more information, call 707-822-8184 or email eservices@cityofarcata.org.

    On Saturday, September 21 the Northcoast Environmental Center is hosting a Zero Waste Coastal Cleanup Day in Humboldt County. If you're interested in joining the global effort to curb marine debris, visit yournec.org/coastalcleanupday/forms-signups/ to participate. Any and all locations in Humboldt County are available for cleanups, including the Arcata Marsh & Wildlife Sanctuary, local beaches, rivers, streets, parks, trails or anywhere that needs some TLC.
