  1. Community Volunteer Workday: Help Maintain Trails in Arcata, Rain or Shine!

    February 23, 2019, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM @ Arcata Marsh Interpretive Center

    The City of Arcata’s Environmental Services Department and the Humboldt Trails Council Volunteer Trail Stewards are seeking volunteers to assist with maintaining the Humboldt Bay Trail North on Saturday, February 23 from 9 AM to 1 PM. Work will include removing invasive plant species from the trail and surrounding area. As always, volunteers of all ages are welcome. Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather and to wear a long-sleeved shirt, work pants, boots and to bring gloves and water. Extra gloves, tools, lunch and beverages will be provided. Volunteers are asked to meet at the Arcata Marsh Interpretive Center parking lot, located on South G Street. From there, participants will walk to the Humboldt Bay Trail North.   2. Walk with the Chief: Marsh Commons Neighborhood

    February 24, 2019, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Rotary Park located on the 100 Block of F Street.

    Arcata Police Chief Ahearn invites Arcata residents to walk the Marsh Commons neighborhood with him on Sunday, February 24. All community members are welcome to join the walk and share their ideas, concerns and input. Just meet the Chief at Rotary Park, located on the 100 block of F Street, at 11 AM to join the walk, or catch him in the neighborhood until 12 PM. This walk will take place rain or shine!
