    Visit the Arcata Plaza Winter Farmers' Market to purchase the freshest Humboldt-County-grown and GMO-free produce along with plants, meats and other wonderful locally-grown or made products. Plus, visit the North Coast Growers' Association information booth for educational materials, recipes and garden growing guides. Please leave your 4-legged friends at home because multiple State, County and Municipal regulations prohibit pets at Certified Farmers' Markets and food facilities. Please also note that smoking of any kind or unauthorized vending is not permitted.

    Bring your binoculars and have a great morning birding! Join Redwood Region Audubon Society volunteers for a guided bird walking tour of the Arcata Marsh Wildlife Sanctuary. No reservations are required! This free tour takes place rain or shine and is open to all-ages. Participants are instructed to meet in the parking lot at the end of South I Street near Klopp Lake at 8:30 am.

    Arcata Police Chief Ahearn invites Arcata residents to walk the Marsh Commons neighborhood with him on Sunday, February 24. All community members are welcome to join the walk and share their ideas, concerns and input. Just meet the Chief at Rotary Park, located on the 100 block of F Street, at 11 AM to join the walk, or catch him in the neighborhood until 12 PM. This walk will take place rain or shine!

  1. Community Volunteer Workday: Help Maintain Trails in Arcata, Rain or Shine!

    February 23, 2019, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM @ The location will be determined by the weather forecast! Please check this event listing on Wednesday, February 20 for location confirmation and meeting instructions.

    The City of Arcata’s Environmental Services Department and the Humboldt Trails Council Volunteer Trail Stewards are seeking volunteers to assist with maintaining trails in Arcata on Saturday, February 23 from 9 AM to 1 PM. The location of this work day will be determined by weather forecast and will take place rain or shine! The City will confirm the location details once they are confirmed on Wednesday, February 20 by sending out an eNotification to those who have signed up for them. To sign up for eNotifications, visit http://www.cityofarcata.org/list.aspx. As always, volunteers of all ages are welcome. Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather and to wear a long-sleeved shirt, work pants, boots and to bring gloves and water. Extra gloves, tools, lunch and beverages will be provided.
