  1. Annie & Mary Trail Project Pop-Up Design Demonstration

    April 22, 2019, 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM @ The pop-up demonstration will take place at Sunset Avenue between the Arcata Skate Park and the traffic circle located nearby the park.

    The Annie and Mary Connectivity Project will create a new trail that will connect Sunset Avenue/Larson Park to Valley West and the Aldergrove Industrial Park via West End Road. This project will also make improvements to the Sunset Avenue and Giuntoli Lane overpasses, create neighborhood connections to the trail and improve pedestrian access to parks and businesses. On Monday, April 22 from 12 to 6 PM the City will host a temporary, pop-up infrastructure demonstration on Sunset Avenue between the Arcata Skate Park and the traffic circle located nearby the park. The demonstration will show the public what the trail crossing Sunset Avenue and along the railroad corridor will look like, in addition to a new bus stop location in the area. All interested members of the public are asked to attend and share their feedback onsite with the project team.

  2. Annie & Mary Trail Project Public Workshop

    April 23, 2019, 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM @ Hampton Inn's Sequoia Conference Room

    The City of Arcata will be sharing initial design ideas for the new multi-use Annie and Mary Trail Connectivity Project. This project will create a new trail that will connect Sunset Avenue/Larson Park to Valley West and the Aldergrove Industrial Park via West End Road. This project will also make improvements to the Sunset Avenue and Giuntoli Lane overpasses, create neighborhood connections to the trail and improve pedestrian access to parks and businesses. On Tuesday, April 23 the City will hold a public workshop to share the initial trail design ideas. The workshop will consist of a short presentation followed by the opportunity for the public to ask questions and offer input to the project team. Food, a children’s activity corner and Spanish interpretation will be provided. The workshop will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 PM in the Sequoia Conference Room at the Hampton Inn, located at 4750 Valley West Boulevard in Arcata.
