    Arcata Police Chief Ahearn invites Arcata residents to walk the Westwood neighborhood with him on Sunday, February 17. All community members are welcome to join the walk and share thoughts, concerns, ideas, take a selfie or just get a little morning exercise! Meet the Chief at the intersection of Stewart Avenue and Chestnut Place at 11 AM to join the walk, or catch him in the neighborhood until 12 PM. This walk will take place rain or shine.

  2. Community Volunteer Workday: Help Maintain Trails in Arcata, Rain or Shine!

    The City of Arcata’s Environmental Services Department and the Humboldt Trails Council Volunteer Trail Stewards are seeking volunteers to assist with maintaining trails in Arcata on Saturday, February 23 from 9 AM to 1 PM. The location of this work day will be determined by weather forecast and will take place rain or shine! The City will confirm the location details once they are confirmed on Wednesday, February 20 by sending out an eNotification to those who have signed up for them. Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather and to wear a long-sleeved shirt, work pants, boots and to bring gloves and water. Extra gloves, tools, lunch and beverages will be provided.
