  1. A Look Inside the Arcata Police Department

    December 8, 2018, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Arcata Police Department

    The Arcata Police Department is excited to be opening its doors to the community for A Look Inside the APD on Saturday, December 8. This family-friendly event provides a unique opportunity for community members to visit APD, ask questions and learn more about the Police Department’s work in Arcata’s neighborhoods. Chief Brian Ahearn will be offering tours inside the Police Department and of APD’s Mobile Command Vehicle, and attendees will have the opportunity to meet Officer O’Donovan and his K9 Baron. Plus, coffee, pastries and doughnuts will be provided. All community members are invited and encouraged to attend! For more information, please call 707-822-2428.

    Join Friends of the Arcata Marsh (FOAM) volunteers for a tour of the wildlife sanctuary. This free tour takes place rain or shine! No reservations are necessary. Participants are instructed to meet at the Interpretive Center.

  1. Redwood Region Audubon Society Guided Bird Walks

    December 8, 2018, 8:30 AM - 11:00 AM @ Arcata Marsh & Wildlife Sanctuary

    Bring your binoculars and have a great morning birding! Join Redwood Region Audubon Society volunteers for a guided bird walking tour of the Arcata Marsh Wildlife Sanctuary. No reservations are required! This free tour takes place rain or shine and is open to all-ages. Participants are instructed to meet in the parking lot at the end of South I Street near Klopp Lake at 8:30 am.

  2. Arcata Marsh Clean-Up Day

    December 8, 2018, 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM @ Arcata Marsh Interpretive Center

    Humboldt Pet Supply and Friends of the Arcata Marsh (FOAM) host a monthly event to help reduce our community's environmental paw print by cleaning up abandoned trash and pet waste at the Arcata Marsh. This event is open to volunteers of all ages. Volunteers are asked to meet at 9:30 am at the South G Street parking lot, located near the Interpretive Center, for coffee and doughnuts! Participants are encouraged to wear a long-sleeved shirt, pants and boots and to bring water. Clean-up supplies and materials, coffee and snacks will be provided.   1. 19th Annual Holiday Craft Market

    December 8, 2018, 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM @ Arcata Community Center

    Arcata Recreation is excited to be hosting the 19th Annual Holiday Craft Market! Everyone is invited to come out and shop for unique, handcrafted gifts from over 50 local artisans, while enjoying live music and warm, nutritious bites. The 2018 Holiday Craft Market is a fundraiser for Arcata Recreation's Youth Development Scholarship Fund, which supports youth in our community by subsidizing fees for Arcata Recreation programs. In 2017, the Youth Development Scholarship Fund awarded 424 individual scholarships to local youth totaling over $13,200, with the Holiday Craft Market fundraiser contributing over $6,300 to the scholarship fund! This year's event will take place on Saturday, December 8 from 10 am to 5 pm and on Sunday, December 9 from 10 am to 4 pm at Arcata Community Center, admission is $1 with all proceeds benefiting the Youth Development Scholarship Fund.
