  1. 45th Annual North Country Fair

    Celebrate the changing of the seasons and community spirit at the 45th Annual North Country Fair! From its inception, the North Country Fair has been a showcase and haven for creativity, alternative solutions and the resilient people who use those tools for progress. This year, attendees will enjoy a variety of handmade arts, crafts, food, parades and 3 stages of entertainment featuring dancing, music and martial arts. Guests can also visit Wellness Row featuring local heath practitioners and receive a chair massage, do some yoga and more! In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to meet local community groups, environmental organizations and other non-profit organizations. Guests of the Fair are asked leave your four-legged friends at home, and bring your own pint cup for beer and a refillable bottle for water and refrain from bringing in waste from off-site.     Bring your binoculars and have a great morning bird watching! Join Redwood Region Audubon Society volunteers for a tour of the Arcata Marsh Wildlife Sanctuary. This free tour takes place rain or shine! No reservations are necessary. Participants are instructed to meet in the parking lot at the end of South I Street near Klopp Lake.

  2. Arcata Marsh Clean-Up Day

    September 15, 2018, 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM @ Arcata Marsh Interpretive Center

    Humboldt Pet Supply and Friends of the Arcata Marsh (FOAM) host a monthly event to help reduce our community's environmental paw print by cleaning up abandoned pet waste and garbage left behind at the Arcata Marsh! This free event is open to volunteers of all ages. Volunteers are instructed to meet at 9:30 am at the South G Street parking lot, located near the Interpretive Center for coffee and doughnuts! Participants are encouraged to wear a long-sleeved shirt, pants and boots and to bring water. Clean-up supplies and materials, coffee, doughnuts and snacks will be provided.   1. Community Volunteer Workday - Spartina and Invasive Plant Removal at the Arcata Marsh

    The City of Arcata Environmental Services Department and the Redwood Community Action Agency invite volunteers to help remove Spartina and invasive plants from the Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary! This free event is open to volunteers of all ages. Volunteers are instructed to meet at 9 am at the parking lot located at 569 South G Street, near the Arcata Marsh Interpretive Center. Participants are encouraged to wear a long-sleeved shirt, pants and boots and to bring water. Gloves, tools, beverages and lunch will be provided.
