Does Your Building Project Qualify for Administrative Design Review?
Arcata has a tiered Design Review process, where the level of approval depends on the type of project and the location. Projects may be approved at the administrative level if they meet certain requirements. This means that they will be approved by the Planning Department as part of your building permit application, reducing both cost and the time required for approval.
Other projects are reviewed by the Planning Commission or Zoning Administrator, and usually require a public hearing.
