[ARCHIVED] Construction is Underway at Redwood Park!

Wooden Redwood Park Sign at Park Entrance

The 2023 Redwood Park Improvement Project Phase I will begin construction during the week of Monday, April 24!

The City of Arcata has contracted with Mobley Construction for this project. Work involves expansion of the concrete sidewalk, addition of an accessible parking stall and installation of a new nature castle themed playground and pump track.

Work will begin at Redwood Park and continue for approximately two months thereafter, weather permitting. Access to the park will be closed from the 11th Street/Park Road side during hours of construction. Access from 14th Street will remain open. Portions of the work may require temporary lane closures. Although delays are expected to be minimal, members of the community are encouraged to follow all safety directions and use alternate routes if possible.

Construction will take place Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on some days the contractor may extend work hours from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

More information will be provided as it becomes available. The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of July.

If problems are encountered with this project, please contact Mobley Construction at (707) 497-8368 or the City of Arcata at (707) 497-4336. Updates on construction progress and project plans can be viewed at
