Join City of Arcata staff and community partners to assess walkability along K and 11th Streets with a nationally recognized active transportation expert, walkability innovator and community well-being advocate on Saturday, July 22nd!
The City of Arcata is collaborating with the Humboldt County Association of Governments and other local jurisdictions to bring Dan Burden’s expertise to Humboldt County. Burden will be hosting walk audits, presentations and discussions throughout Humboldt County, July 22 – 25.
The City of Arcata will host a walk audit focused on K and 11th streets on Saturday, July 22. The walk will start at 10 a.m. on the corner of 9th and L streets on the Bay Trail and conclude with a debrief around 11:30 a.m. at the Arcata Playhouse, 1251 9th St. A walk audit is an opportunity for community members and technical experts alike to share their experience and discuss conditions for walking, biking and rolling along public streets.
Community members are also welcome to attend a dynamic presentation on the benefits and opportunities for walkable communities with Dan Burden including recommendations from the week’s walk audits on Monday, July 24 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Wharfinger Building, located at 1 Marina Way in Eureka.
