The City of Arcata Recreation Division is now registering for You-Pick Winter Farm Shares for the 2023-2024 season.
You-Pick Farm Shares offer households the experience of visiting the farm weekly to harvest fresh, organic produce from Bayside Park Farm. Vegetables will include broccoli (regular and sprouting), beets, brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, chard, collards, fennel, kale, kohlrabi, leeks, radishes and turnips.
Bayside Park Farm is a three-acre vegetable farm located in the City of Arcata’s Bayside Park which is dedicated to cultivating connections between the community and sustainable agriculture. The Bayside Park Farm share program was the first Community Supported Agriculture program in Arcata and has provided the community with local, organic produce for 30 years.
There will be a farm orientation on Saturday, Oct. 28, at 11 a.m. at Bayside Park Farm. Farmer Jessica will give a tour of the farm’s winter crops and review the best harvesting practices. Bayside Park Farm is located at 930 Old Arcata Road in Arcata.
The winter farm share season is Nov. 1, 2023 through Feb. 29, 2024. The cost per share is $160. Shares are limited, so sign up now to reserve a spot.
