Due to unanticipated technical issues, the Arcata City Council meeting scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 17 will not be broadcast on Zoom and those wishing to provide comment on the meeting should plan to attend in person
The City of Arcata seeks to make public meetings as accessible to the public as possible. In this effort, Arcata City Council and Planning Commission meetings can typically be watched through the City’s YouTube channel, Access Humboldt and Zoom. Unlike YouTube and Access Humboldt, watching through Zoom allows attendees to provide comment on the meeting.
Unfortunately, the City is currently experiencing technical issues with the equipment that makes broadcasting live meetings on Zoom possible. These issues are expected to be resolved the week of Sept. 22 but will prevent attendance through Zoom for the regular City Council meeting scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 17. Thus, community members wishing to provide comment on agenda items or during public comment should plan to attend in person.
The City appreciates the public’s patience as it works to resolve these issues and resume normal broadcasting of council meetings. Those who would like to watch the meeting, but do not intend to provide comment can still do so through YouTube or Access Humboldt. The special meeting, which is primarily for closed session items but has public comment at the start, begins at 5 p.m. and the regular meeting begins at 6 p.m.
