The Arcata Police Department has established a 24-hour tip line for any member of the public to call in order to provide information regarding the murder of David Josiah Lawson. Lawson, a Humboldt State University student, was killed at a house party in the 1100 block of Spear Avenue on April 15, 2017.
Anyone with information is asked to call the tip line at 707-825-2590, and callers may choose to remain anonymous.
Additionally, the Arcata Police Department has released still images from video obtained near the crime scene in order to identify anyone in these images as potential witnesses.

COMMUNITY REWARD PROGRAM ESTABLISHED FOR INFORMATION ON LAWSON HOMICIDE
The community reward program for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the April 15, 2017 homicide of David Josiah Lawson is now at $55,000. Community members have donated $26,000 to a fund held at the City and an additional $30,000 to a fund held by the family. Award eligibility requires that the information provided leads directly to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible. If more than one person provides identical information, the reward will be equally divided among those people.
