The City of Arcata is exited to announce the 15th Annual Bike Rodeo and is looking for community members that are interested in volunteering and participating!

In honor of bike month in May, the City of Arcata is beginning to prepare for the 15th Annual Bike Rodeo. The City of Arcata is reaching out to the community to gain support from community members and local outdoor and bicycling shops to help facilitate this year’s rodeo.

Bike Rodeos are communal events that help kids practice bicycle transportation safety. Bike rodeos are facilitated by knowledgeable, skilled, and trained instructors and incorporate different activities to engage and educate the next generation of bicyclists and promote safety in the community.

This year’s annual bike rodeo is currently planned for Saturday, May 20 and will take place in the Creamery District on 9th St. between L St. and N St. The City of Arcata is planning to close down the aforementioned portion of 9th Street to optimize spacing and the number of activities for the event.

Individuals and organizations that are interested in assisting with this year’s bike rodeo are encouraged to contact the City of Arcata’s Engineering Department at (707) 825-2174 or email at engineering@cityofarcata.org for more information.
