Housing Humboldt and the City of Arcata are partnering to bring artist Lucas Thornton's marbeled murrelet mural to the Samoa Boulevard facing side of the Arcata Bay Crossing building.
Arcata Bay Crossing is a project of Housing Humboldt and the City. It houses 32 formerly homeless people and is a great addition to the community in many ways.
So far, the Center for Biological Diversity, the Footprint Foundation and the City have pledged $10,000 each toward Thornton's 5,600 square foot signature Marsh District mural. Now, community members have a chance to beautify this gateway to Arcata by helping to raise the last $10,000 to complete the mural.
All donations are tax-deductible and donors contributing over $500 will be listed on the building. Every donor will be invited to a barbecue celebration for the mural in late-summer sponsored by Wildberries Marketplace.
Donations can be mailed to:

Donations can also be made via PayPal on Housing Humboldt's website, www.housinghumboldt.org, starting July 27.
Thank you for making Arcata beautiful!
