Voter Registration


There are 3 ways to register to vote:
  • Online: Visit the California Secretary of State website and follow the prompts for online voter registration.
  • In person: Pick up registration forms in person at the following locations:
    • Any public library
    • Any U.S. Post Office
    • Arcata City Hall
    • Department of Motor Vehicles

  • Register by Mail: Contact the Humboldt County Elections Department by calling 707-445-7481, or the Secretary of State at 800-345-VOTE (800-345-8683)
  • Voter registration forms must be filled out completely and be postmarked or hand-delivered to the County Elections Division at least 15 days before an election in which you wish to vote.
  • Conditional Voting, also known as "same day voting", is now an option for Humboldt County residents. Eligible Humboldt County residents may go to the Humboldt County Office of Elections on Election Day and conditionally vote. Please note: If your residence address changes, you will need to re-register at your current address.
