Zoning Compliance Tables and Map

Zoning Compliance Tables are used by City staff to ensure a proposed project meets zoning standards.  You can use them to ensure your project meets standards before submitting a project for review.

First, find the zoning for your property.  You can find this by using our GIS Property Information.  Look for Parcel Finder under the Interactive Maps section.  Search by address or APN, or even your name - there is a handy guide you can use if you need help. You will find your Arcata Land Use Code zoning designation on the right hand side of the property information sheet.

Then, choose use the tabs below to find detailed development standards for your zone.  If you have any questions, please get in touch with a planner by calling 707-822-5955.

City of Arcata Zoning Map

The City of Arcata Zoning Map identifies the locations of the City’s various zoning districts. This map is helpful in determining where activities are allowed throughout the City.  See Chapter 2 of the Arcata Land Use Code to learn about the allowable land uses in each of the City’s zoning districts.

To check the zoning in Arcata:

  1. Go to the City's GIS Parcel Finder.
  2. Insert an address in the top left search field
  3. Open the Layer List.
  4. Place a check in “Land Use-General Plan” then “Zoning (LUC)”
  5. Place a check in the "Zoning (LUC)" box. You should see the map turn different colors which represents the different zoning districts.
